TranslatedChat ("we", "our", "us") provides messaging, calling, and translation features. This policy describes what data we collect and how we use it.
Information We Collect
- Account data (phone number, profile name, optional profile photo).
- Message metadata required to deliver messages (timestamps, conversation identifiers, delivery state).
- Media you choose to send (images, videos, audio, documents).
- Optional data based on permissions you grant (contacts for name lookup/sharing, location for user-initiated location sharing, microphone/camera for calls and media capture).
- Diagnostics and crash data for reliability and security.
How We Use Data
- Provide messaging, calling, translation, and notification functionality.
- Improve app reliability, prevent abuse, and secure accounts.
- Operate optional ad features where applicable.
Translation
When translation features are enabled, message content may be sent to configured translation providers to return translated text.
Data Sharing
We do not sell personal data. We share data only with service providers needed to operate core app functionality (for example cloud messaging, storage, analytics/crash services, and translation providers).
Third-Party Media
- KLIPY: sticker search and delivery when you use stickers (see KLIPY's privacy policy).
- Giphy: GIF search when you use GIFs.
Data Retention
Server-side message copies are removed when delivery completes. If a recipient is offline, an encrypted delivery copy may be held for up to thirty days, then deleted automatically. Account and conversation metadata may persist for service continuity.
Your Choices
- You can control permissions in Android settings.
- You can mute chats, disable previews, and manage privacy-related settings in app.
- You can request account deletion by contacting us.
Advertising (Unity Ads)
The free version of TranslatedChat may show ads provided by Unity Ads. Unity and its advertising partners may collect and process data to deliver, measure, and personalize ads. We do not use your message content for advertising.
- Device information (such as device identifiers, operating system, and app version).
- IP address (used for approximate location for ad delivery and measurement).
- Ad interaction data (such as impressions and clicks).
Ads may use device information and approximate location for delivery and measurement. You can limit ad tracking in your Android device settings.
